Grief Recovery Alumni
Sometimes completing one loss makes another one easier to see.
If you have already completed the Grief Recovery Method and there is another relationship or loss you would like to work through, the Alumni Group offers a supported way to return to the process you already know.
The Grief Recovery Alumni Group is for people who have previously completed the 7- or 8-week Grief Recovery Method program and would like to use the process again with another relationship or loss.
Because you have already learned the foundational concepts and tools, we will not repeat the full program. Instead, this group provides structure, support, and dedicated time to return to the core completion work.
You will work with one relationship or loss of your choosing using the process you already know.

What the Group Offers
Grief rarely arrives one relationship at a time.
After completing the Grief Recovery Method, you may recognize another relationship that feels unfinished. It may involve someone who died, a former spouse or partner, an estranged family member, a friendship that ended, or another relationship that continues to carry emotional weight.
Sometimes the first completion also gives us a clearer understanding of what unfinished grief feels like.
The Alumni Group gives you an opportunity to return to the process without beginning the entire program again. Together, we will focus on the core completion work:
Your Relationship Loss Timeline
You will create a timeline of the relationship you have chosen to work with, identifying significant events and experiences across the whole relationship—not only how it ended. The timeline helps you see the relationship more completely and begin recognizing what may remain unfinished.
The Recovery Components
You will review and apply the recovery components you learned during your original Grief Recovery Method program. This gives you a structured way to identify the things you wish had been different, better, or more, along with other emotional communication that may remain incomplete.
Your Completion Letter
Using the work you have done with the timeline and recovery components, you will write your completion letter. As before, the letter is for your recovery. It is not sent to the other person.
The purpose is not reconciliation, confrontation, forgiveness on demand, or changing what happened. It is an opportunity to complete the emotional communication that remains unfinished for you.
What to Expect
This is a working group, rather than a repeat of the original seven-week program.
You already know the process. Our purpose is to give you the structure and support to use it again.
You can expect:
-
A small, private group
-
Clear guidance through each stage of the completion process
-
Time between meetings to complete your individual work
-
The same respect for privacy and personal pacing you experienced in the original program
-
No requirement to share details you prefer to keep private
-
An opportunity to have your completion letter witnessed within the process
You do not need to arrive with the relationship completely understood.
You simply need to know that there is something you would like to give attention to.
Sometimes another loss is not asking us to begin again.
It is asking us to use what we already know.
Not Ready for a Group Yet?
You don't have to be ready to join a group to begin understanding what you're experiencing.
This series looks at what can happen when you return to familiar grief recovery work from a different place in your life—with a different relationship, different understanding, and perhaps things you were not ready or able to see the first time..
